Newton’s housing market is on the move.
Newton City Council passed and funded a comprehensive housing plan in 2014.
In 2015 we sought out builders and in 2016 there were 10 different builders building in Newton.
They built 11 new constructing home, 10 of which sold and 5 of those were new people to Newton.

There are 12 new homes under construction in Newton currently. From Condos to $300,000 plus single family homes. All will be finished this spring or early summer and several have already been spoken for.

In additional 12 other new homes that I am aware of are being planned.

Cardinal Ridge Town Homes – infrastructure work grading and road construction will begin as soon as the weather allows this spring. Creating an upscale town home association consisting of 14 lots and 18 units (doors).

FairMeadows North 7.3 acres touching Agnes Patterson Park to the East is in the Engineering phase with surveying completed and plans being developed. We are promoting these 23 lots to developers and builder and hopefully we’ll have basements in the ground be late summer.

I am very excited about this years building season.
Newton’s Housing Incentives are still in effect with $10,000 to buyers and Builder incentives for Spec homes as well. Contact Bruce Showalter NHDC Director for more information. 641-521-6031 or [email protected]
